Giveaway & Review ~ BLITZING EMILY, a Love and Football Novel by Julie Brannagh

Blurb

All is fair in Love and Football...

Emily Hamilton doesn't trust men. She's much more comfortable playing the romantic lead on stage in front of a packed house than in her own life. So, when NFL star and irresistible ladies' man Brandon McKenna acts as her personal white knight, she has no illusions he'll stick around. However, a misunderstanding with the press throws them together in a fake engagement that yields unexpected (and breathtaking) benefits.

Every time Brandon calls her "Sugar," Emily almost believes Brandon's playing for keeps, not just to score. Can she let down her defenses and get her own Happily Ever After?

Author Info

Julie Brannagh has been writing since she was old enough to hold a pencil. She lives in a small town near Seattle, where she once served as a city council member and owned a yarn shop. She shares her home with a wonderful husband, two uncivilized Maine Coons and a rambunctious chocolate Lab.

Julie hasn't quite achieved the goal of owning a pro football team, so she created a fictional one: The Seattle Sharks. When she's not writing, she's reading, or armchair-quarterbacking her favorite NFL team from the comfort of the family room couch. Julie is a Golden Heart finalist and the author of four contemporary sports romances.

My Thoughts:

This book was fun and flirty but emersed in romance and drama. :-)

Emily is an opera diva who has been hurt by men one too many times. She agrees to help her sister deliver some flowers and that is how she meets Brandon McKenna. Brandon is not happy to see the arrangement coming toward the doors and yells that he doesn't want it. In doing so, he scares poor Emily and she goes down hitting her head in the process.

These two are cute together. Their chemistry and banter will easily have you drawn into this romance. :-)

Oh and did I mention that he is a football player? He and his teammates are a handful. lol! ;-)

Anyway, when Brandon takes Emily to the hospital to have her head checked after her tumble, the nurse jokingly says that he's her fiance. Others hear and next thing you know the news is abuzz that the two are engaged. This seems to make everyone happy. The news travels fast and the two of them decide to keep up the charade for at least thirty days.

As they spend time together they become good friends. Thirty days comes and goes and when things appear to be going good, something happens that rocks their relationship.

Brandon was awesome. He was cute and sweet. Emily grated my nerves at first but grew on me.

I recommend this book to all of you who like sweet romance.

The next book in the Love and Football series is entitled Rushing Amy and is due out in February! :-)

I received an ecopy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion. I really, really liked it. :D

  5. LOL I think the reason we love Sports heroes in romance is that they generally, as a rule, don't have a clue what to do with anything off the field of play. That makes some of them cute and some of them horse's patooties.
